BEAS KUND TREK

The ancient Indians called the Beas River as Vipas or Arjiki while the ancient Greeks called it as Hyphasis. The current name Beas is regarded as formed from Vyas who is the author of Mahabharata, the great Indian epic, however some scholars in Himachal Pradesh call this river as Vipasha.


Beas Kund - Beas so named after Rishi (Sage ) Beas and Kund is hindi word for tiny lake. This tiny lake of Beas Kund situated at higher and upper valley of Solang. Which is the heart of winter and summer games in Manali.


It's an ideal base camp for climbing nearby peaks Shitidhar, friendship and Ladakhi peak. The West side of Beas Kund is magnificient peak of Hanman Tibba 5990m, which access through tiny pass of above this lake.


-------------------------------------------------------TREK ITINERARY----------------------------------------------------------------


Day 01: Arrive Delhi:
Upon arrival at Delhi airport met our representative and then transfer to hotel for overnight stay.


Day 02: Delhi to Manali:
In the morning take a half day sight seeing at Delhi and in the evening drive to Manali by AC Volvo coach. Overnight journey.


Day 03: Manali:
On arrive at Manali and transfer to hotel late afternoon sightseeing tour of Hadimba Temple, Vashisht Hot Spring etc. Overnight stay in hotel.


Day 04: Manali to Solan Nullah:
In the morning drive to Solan Nullah (2840 mt./ 14 km drive). One of the most beautiful meadow in the region, Solan Nullah is the starting point to many trek during summer and Himachal Pradesh's best ski slope. Set up camp for overnight stay. Rest of the day at leisure to explore and enjoy the tranquility of the mountain.


Day 05: Solan Nullah to Dhundi:
After breakfast start first day's trekking (8 km). The trek follows Beas River (Solan Nullah), many times crossing the stream from one to another side. Dhundi is another Alpine meadow full of wild flowers. We will set-up camp at Dhundi for overnight stay in Camp.


Day 06: Dhundi to Beas Kund:
The today's trek (6 km) is steep. One has to trek over loosely held boulders and morains of a dying glacier. Beas Kund (3650 mt) is a small holy lake with a small meadow beside it. The legend is that Rishi Vyash meditated here. We set-up camp here. Optional : Trek up to Tentu Pass (4995 mt.). This is a arduous stretch and heavely glaciated. From the pass you can see Kulu valley and Hanuman Tibba (5932 mt.) at close distance. Return to Beas Kund for overnight stay in camp


Day 07: Beas Kund to Solan to Manali:
Morning after breakfast return trek (14 km) to Solan. At Solan board the vehicle to reach Manali (14 km drive). On arrival check-into hotel for overnight stay in hotel.


Day 08: Manali to Delhi:
Today we will do half day sight seeing at Manali and in the evening drive to Delhi by car / AC Volvo coach. Overnight journey.


Day 09: Delhi:
Arrival at Delhi by morning. On arrival transfers to hotel for relax. In the evening drive to international airport to catch onwards flight. Tour End.
